Description
Still uncertain, two that perhaps were the same one, stand back to back, needles ready, fearful of the things below. Drawing from like a year ago (or more?) finally colored. This one also seems to have got the Don Bluth treatment that rears its head now and again in my recent coloring (see "A Trip to the Past" and "A Peeking Place in color"). Comments appreciated.Done while watching Socket and the unfortunate Highlander: The Source (which is really Highlander 5).

Indeed, we'd just be agreeing all the time and saying "good times". I think if I met my exact double we'd fight.... but then we'd probably do it on account of gay narcisism.

That's why the idea of someone having a double is scary because the double might try and replace you, especially since it had your same thoughts.

yeah, there is this role playing game called changeling the lost which is about people the fae have taken for some reason and left a double in your place, and you have some how mange to escape because you want your old life back so much.
Sometimes you haven't been gone long but you still have your double to deal with but other times it has been longer and you are a different age and it is hard to convince your family that your the real one if you are a lot older. etc. it is kind of scary that way.

Those fae are awfully tricky. I've heard of the Changeling games, but never knew details like those. It is a terribly exciting (though terribly overused) literary concept. I even started writing the story of Leo meeting his double and the consequences of that.

Well its because there is a lot of old story's where that happened to people, a few hundred years ago fairy's where a common everyday belief and for 1000's of years there has been stories where fae haven't always been nice or the nice was being a little trickster like.
so because there is 1000s of years worth that is why they are so many.

Plus there's hundreds of more since the invention of television (almost every show has had an episode where I major character meet their double and the confusion that arises [especially "The Flinstones" which had 2 separate times where Fred met a double]) but the involvement of the fae, even if it is the origin of such stories, does make it more interesting. These days its scarier to think of the technological means through which someone could meet one's double.

yeah that makes a lot of sense i think storys adapt as our fears adapt with the old fae stories it was the fear of being take away to an unknown place. and with these days i think it is the fear of the unknown still but a fear of technology developing so fast that we don't know whats going to happen next.

What disturbs me is the thought that humanity has come to mistrust itself so much that they'd gladly let machines replace them in every sense.

It serves sometimes. I think I'd like people better if they trusted themselves and one another a little more.

It would be nice, it is certainly a nice thought ^^ but this day and age it is hard to trust people.

It's a troubling thing that we're sort of being punished for every wrong thing a human has ever done to another. My instinct or impulse, when faced with mistrust has always been to do something untrustworthy, irrational as it is. But a person's trust when given is hard for me to break, by the same impulse.

Well, if someone seems to mistrust me or says as much, I'll feel tempted to do bad by them. However, sometimes this is countered by a spiteful streak I have, to do what isn't expected. The trouble with the latter being it can be a mechanism by which I can be manipulated, which I don't like.
