These are easter eggs, not a joining of the worlds. By your logic, one could also say Mario is a part of our world as we also have pictures and masks of him. The enemies in Link's Awakening is the best proof you've offered, but considering the entirety was a dream world, it doesn't hold.

If your saying Mario Kart 8(a not at all canon series) conects link to mario, couldn't I say Smash bros already connected them?

No because Smash is a cross-over, not a spin-off. Mario games, with the exception of the arcade port, have always incorporated characters exclusively from the Mario universe. That's why it's called MARIO kart and not Nintendo Kart.

Eastr reggs in general count as canon in general. Mario has LOZ references and vice versa. I'm just too lazy to find specific examples right now.

If you want to believe that, have at thee. But I've seen no evidence that suggests easter egg = automatic canon. If every cross-over/easter egg must be assumed canon, than we can assume Star Wars, Spawn, Zelda and Tekken lore all co-exist thanks to Soul Caliber.Β
