Looks like the blue/spiny shell has been confirmed as an item in the next Smash Bros! It seems it cannot be contained in just Mario Kart.

I do! I slow down on purpose and have that anxiety of always hearing the blue shell whooshing sound. Is it coming!? Oh no thats my engine.
I've done that a couple times and toad and bowser got hit instead of me.Β

To be fair, for me, the DS mario kart games, Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 7, were easy for me. Maybe it was because you can SEE what racer has what item. So when I see a blue shell in the list, I let the 2nd placer get in front of me, and then HE gets it! However, if i'm to far away from the other players, I just take on the Blue Shell, Like A Man!

What's more is that I KNOW people will be arguing over the scoring. Pure joy. >.<

Yep, I'm sticking with Melee and Brawl as my favorites.

I always play SSBM. I love, love it! My data got erased recently, but it was kind of fun having unlock everything again. If only I had a Wii, I'd be playing Brawl, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Wind Waker like crazy.

However, I do well enough even with my air dodge skills not being so great. lol However, I don't play competitively or in online contests. It's just for fun.

Thanks! It looks like SSB4 will be a blast to play. I only hope that they, add Galacta Knight to the roster, keep some of my favorites from Brawl and bring back Mewtwo one day. It's a tall order, but it can be done hopefully.

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-27 11:21:19 +0000 UTC]

I am pretty sure that only Meta Knight will return instead.
In case you didn't know, Sakurai posted a picture on Twitter that was mysteriously removed in late 2012 that featured a picture of early development of the game.
In the picture Mr. Game & Watch, Meta Knight, Ness, Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers, and Jigglypuff were shown to be playable characters.
I have to let you know though, Sakurai stated that not all the veterans from Brawl will return due to time constraints.
I also heard a rumor somewhere that there will be 50 characters in the roster with 35 characters revealed publicly with 15 unlockable characters.

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-27 18:09:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's why I'm not too excited for SSB4. It's likely that my fave veterans from Brawl will make it. It looks like a blast, but if my faves won't be in it, the thrill is gone for me.

I hope that some of my faves will be unlockable though.

But despite this, Melee and Brawl will forever be my all time faves. I only have to get a Wii one day. I'm a poor person. XD

I plan to play as the new characters for a while in the new game, and then go back to playing my best characters which happen to be Mario, Captain Falcon, and Marth.

Nope, I mean a Nintendo Wii. The console that came before the Wii U. I plan on getting a Wii somehow when my Gamecube dies. That way I can play the GC games on the Wii along with the few Wii games I want to buy. I'll get them somehow.....just scraping up the money to even get that stuff....ugh.

I'm really not a video game fanatic like I used to be when I was younger. XD

Yeah, trying out the different characters makes it fun to play. With a little practice you might discover new faves.

My best/favorite characters are:

From Melee - Peach, Yoshi, Mewtwo, Bowser, Kirby, Link, Zelda/Sheik, Fox, Falco and Samus

From Brawl - same people from Melee, Wolf, Ganondorf, Sonic, Snake, and King Dedede.

Oh, I see.
I hope that you manage to keep up soon.
I still have my N64, Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, and Wii.
I recently got a Nintendo 3DS and I plan to get new games for the system with Smash Bros being one of the first.

Besides this, I hope that Nintendo makes a new F-Zero and Starfox soon.
A new Metroid game is in development for the Wii U by Retro Studios fortunately.

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-27 23:04:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll try to keep up, but I'm not too worried about it though. With my financial situation, I'll just be glad if I can get even a Wii.

I still have my GBA SP (the advance died), Gamecube, and the original NDS (the fat one) that plays both GBA and DS games.
That sounds cool! Have fun with you new games!

I've never played F-Zero or Metroid before, but I've played Star Fox Adventures and want to buy SF Assault one day. I agree, they definitely need to make a new Star Fox game. My first Zelda game will be either Ocarina of Time of Twilight Princess. I'm trying to get both.

I've heard of that new Metroid game though. That series is wildly popular.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-27 23:25:44 +0000 UTC]

If you are interested, I suggest that you approach F-Zero with caution.
The racing franchise was the first to achieve 60 fps on any system or in any video game.
F-Zero GX is said to be one of the top 10 hardest games to beat by IGN and it took me a good 3-4 years to beat it.

For the Legend of Zelda, I would recommend getting Ocarina of Time since it is a classic, but to be honest, I find Twilight
Princess to be better.

Metroid Prime is one of the best FPS if not the best FPS that I have ever played.

If you can, try to get Star Fox 64.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-28 02:30:30 +0000 UTC]

I'll definitely keep that advice in mind if I decide to play F-Zero. I had heard of it being extremely hard to beat, but didn't give it much thought because I wasn't interested in that game at the time.

Oh yes, I do plan on getting Ocarina of Time as well as Twilight Princess. I want to play TP first though.

That's good to hear. I'll have to try Metroid and see what I think of it. I always wondered about where Samus came from and what her games were about.

Yeah, the classic Star Fox 64.

I can almost guarantee that you will not regret playing the games.
I have to say however, that Captain Falcon never uses a Falcon Punch in any of the F-Zero games.

Yes, I know that Captain Falcon doesn't use any of SSB moves in F-Zero. Those moves were created for the sole purpose of the game.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-29 01:03:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it really is a bummer to have Captain Falcon not use his Falcon Punch in his own game.
However, in the F-Zero anime Captain Falcon unleashes the Falcon Punch in the last episode due to the immense power that it contains.

I personally hope that Nintendo recreates this scene in their new F-Zero game.

Yes, that would be a really amazing tribute for the series. I hope a Star Fox anime is created. SSB too. And they need to redo the Legend of Zelda anime so it's not cheesy.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-29 20:08:47 +0000 UTC]

Well, in the end of F-Zero GX, a song is played that contains this set of lyrics.
"When a mighty illusion threatens your lunch/Falcon will be unleashing the Falcon Punch."

The current director rejects any plans of Nintendo making an animated series, but he did say that if a Zelda movie were to be created, it would have to work like "The Last of Us".

I am somewhat skeptical of the creation of a Star Fox anime, because if they do that, then people will probably bash Nintendo and continuously post annoying comments of how they want a game from the series now.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-29 20:38:31 +0000 UTC]

Interesting.

That sucks! :-/ I'll just have to rely on fan fiction for the SSB anime then. Darn it!
I'm not liking the idea of a Zelda movie working like "The Last of Us". >.> I don't even like that game.

Don't people do that anyway regardless? I honestly pay no heed to fanbases. They're the bane of everything that I like. Aside from the seldom few good people, I hate fanbases.

I understand your skepticism.
Even I am not entirely in favor of a Zelda movie working like "The Last of Us".
I can see his desire of wanting to make the film an interactive experience however.

I guess that they do that anyway, but I am not in favor of extreme fanbases either.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-30 01:24:25 +0000 UTC]

I haven't a clue. I heard rumors a year or two ago that there was going to be a new Star Fox game (like Star Fox 64 redone or something). It could be that game that comes out for the 3DS. I doubt it, but it's possible.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-30 11:20:55 +0000 UTC]

I doubt it since they already released Star Fox 64 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.
However, Masahiro Sakurai did express interest in creating a new game for the 3DS after he finished Super Smash Bros 4.
A new Star Fox game was rumored to be in development for the Wii U by Platinum Games however.

Some people have speculated it to be either Super Mario Sunshine 2 or the new IP that Monolith Soft accidentally posted on their Japanese Twitter page that looked like a combination of something I would see in "The Lord of the Rings" and "Xenoblade".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-05-30 22:23:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's true. Lots of people like that game.

Sakurai sure is a popular guy. I wonder he has planned after SSB4? Ooooh! I can't wait to see what the new Star Fox game for Wii U will be like! Star Fox Adventures was my first SF game ever and I loved it. I'd like to play more SF games, but I've never been good at space shooter games though.

Possibly it's going to be Mario. I'd hope it's a new Zelda game, Super Princess Peach 2, or a new Kirby game. Hmm, that other IP game doesn't strike me as interesting since I don't like LotR and I have no idea what Xenoblade is about.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-05-31 00:23:43 +0000 UTC]

Nintendo Tokyo Studio did state that a new Mario game is in development, but they had not disclosed what system it was for.
Masahiro Sakurai stated that he wants to focus on creating new IPs and he hopes to create new ones since he does not like the concept of sequels that much if he has nothing new to add to it.
In fact, Masahiro Sakurai during one interview expressed his concern for Nintendo by stating that they have taken sequels to an unhealthy level and that they have failed to move forward in certain aspects that made them great in the first place.

Kirby Triple Deluxe was released for the Nintendo 3DS in May.
Shigeru Miyamoto stated that Majora's Mask was being in consideration.

In case you don't know what Xenoblade is about, the game is a spiritual successor to Xenogears.
The first Xenogears game was actually supposed to be Final Fantasy VII, but it was decided to make it a different game due to the dark themes and depressing story that made it difficult for the developers to acknowledge as part of the Final Fantasy series. Β
The creator of Xenogears and many of the developers left the company to form Monolith Soft, a now First-Party game developer for Nintendo, due to the fact that they were tired of creating Final Fantasy games.
Monolith Soft consists of the people who created Final Fantasy 1-7 & 10, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross.

Hmm, that's interesting to hear. Especially Sakurai's views on sequels. He's right though, no sequel unless there's something new to add.

I hadn't heard about the Kirby game for the 3DS. The only Kirby game I played and liked was Kirby Superstar Ultra for the DS.

Wow, that's quite a history on the Xenoblade/gears games. But yes Final Fantasy is a rather long running series. Still, I've never heard of the Xeno series until now. I'll have to check it out.

I recommend that you get Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii if you have the time, but that game is really expensive since it is really popular.

Thanks! That was very to fun to watch! :-D

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, that's problem with video games. A lot of the classics and popular games are out of my slim budget. However, if I don't like the game, I'm stuck with it because I won't be able to return it and I have horrible luck selling them to other people. -__- The games I did give away was to the local Exchange store for a measly amount of money.

I was hoping Nintendo would make a game about Galacta Knight (from Kirby) or a Legend of Zelda origin game. (What was Ganondorf's history like? Zelda's? Link's?)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-06-02 01:33:38 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the answer to those questions can be found in one of two ways:
Reading the Hyrule Historia or play Skyward Sword.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-06-02 19:56:50 +0000 UTC]

Once again, Hyrule Historia and Skyward Sword being out of my budget. However, don't the Zelda games all have their own timeline? I'd be better off somehow getting my hands on that Hyrule Historia book.

Now that I know of those options, I wish Nintendo would make a game starring Galacta Knight. In the game, a plot that leads up to his imprisonment in that crystal.

On a side note, isn't it true that Star Fox once had a comic series in the past? I bet I can find the origins of Star Fox there.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NintendoSquarEnixFan In reply to CrescentNubila [2014-06-02 20:59:34 +0000 UTC]

It is true that all the Zelda games have their own set story, however each game is connected to the timeline in some form.
The game splits into 3 different timelines after Ocarina of Time:
Child Link
Adult Link
Β  -The Hero of Time defeats Ganondorf.
Β  -The Hero of Time fails to defeat Ganondorf.

Interestingly, the original plan for the Zelda series according to Shigeru Miyamoto was to indeed have 3 timelines, but they were supposed to be this:
Past
Present
Future

The Past Link was focus on the Child Link, The Present Link would deal with the adult, while the Future would literally be in the Future.
In fact the Future Link was supposed to be a Prince and Zelda would be from a different Kingdom with Ganondorf as the enemy.
The Triforce was planned to be in the form of Computer Chips that each person had access to.
As an addition, Miyamoto stated that the game for future Zelda was intended to look very close to Final Fantasy XV while retaining the Zelda gameplay elements.

Here is the link for the Trailer:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3xKbP…

About Galacta Knight, I don't know what HAL Laboratory could do since Sakurai left the company and I don't want them to stray from what he would do with him.

There is indeed a Star Fox comic, but it was finished and is no longer available in reprints due to the discontinuation of the Nintendo Power magazines.
As for an additional fact, a Star Fox 2 for the SNES was in development, but it was cancelled right before completion.
The game is available online for free since fans had taken the time to complete the game and translating it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrescentNubila In reply to NintendoSquarEnixFan [2014-06-03 18:44:49 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. The timeline where Link fails to defeat Ganon must be Twilight Princess.
The original plan for LoZ seems interesting, but I'm happy the way it turned out as it is. However, that trailer looks amazing!

Galacta Knight is my favorite character and I would've loved to see a game where you play as him and learn his origins. Kirby games have the most mysterious origins.

That's good that Star Fox 2 is available to play online, but it sucks that the comic was cancelled.
