Description
The Sand Splitters, also known as Razor Worms (despite not being actually worms), are large sand-dwelling animals that originally roamed the vast ergs of western Gohbelsbar, most particularly the great Norubian erg, before being introduced in several deserts of eastern Gohbelsbar and northern Moabia for one precise purpose: defending these hard-to manage areas.

Being completely blind, these creatures have evolved to hunt using their highly developed accoustic sensors, and feature specific organs that are stimulated by vibrations provoked by surface moving animals and objects. These caracteristics are being used by the tamers, whom are teams of hotheads dedicated to domesticate wild sand splitters, to train them to efficiently track down suspicious vehicles and personel crossing their turf, using large variable frequency speakers emitting on stimulating frequencies for the splitters.

Usually, ready-for-duty Razor Worms are being equipped with protective armored gear behind their head, as most of their vital organs are located there, despite being one of the only part of their huge bodies usually sticking out of the sand during movement and making them particularly vulnerable to gunfire.
