So first, I look at that NightWing guide in the books with all the lovely art to reference. Next, I attempt copying (not tracing, nono) all the scale patterns and facial expressions. Then, I try manipulating all that into different poses and expressions (normally just headshots, but always practice whatever you struggle drawing). Lastly, know that even if the setup of the design of the dragon is the same, you got a different style from everyone else. uwu
