Description
For this Denver Museum photo, we have the replicated bones of the three horned ceratopsian that plodded and browsed through the forests and meadows of the Late Maastrichtian west in vast herds when (in the case of the bulls) not locking horns during the breeding season or falling victim to/fending off/killing any and all Tyrannosaurs. And despite what a certain theory has stated the past 11 years, it was a Triceratops contemporary/browsing buddy, not the last growth stage of Triceratops itself*. Finally, to be more specific, this skeleton (as you can read from the sign in the photo) is the replica of a specimen found in Thornton, Colorado:Triceratops found near Denver in Thornton actually a rarer dinosaur (usatoday.com)
