If you're looking to create a "more realistic" font, just find a better looking katakana font on the internet. The matrix symbols are just one of the japanese syllabic alphabets backwards (ie the katakana)

... it seems to me this is katakana (one of the japanese alphabets)... but a converted one... Strange I think no one noticed that!

@lexandr

I analysed your font in the program "FontLab 4.6" and I was surprised how many errors, unexact lines and points are in this font. From the point of precision is this a unfinished work. Sorry, but I am still on search for a perfect matrix code font and I think I will never find it, until I make it self. My question: Is this unexactness, because you had not more time for this work, or is it because you have not the right tools to make it more precise. What I want is a "MATRIX CODE" font, with the same quality like a 'Arial' font, or another original font.

lexandr In reply to msbazman [2004-10-18 16:25:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, finally someone who takes the time to analyze
Now, if you'd analyze the ReadMe file as well, you'd know that I made this font using Photoshop, all in a few hours. To make an original font like "Arial" it would take me at least few days - the time I don't have. AND I would need some proper tools as well, unfortunately, FontLab isn't that great too in this matter.
The font IS unfinished, hence version 1.5. Maybe someday I will have enough time to finish it. But rest assured, there is no such thing as a perfect Matrix code font, and there will never be (unless you make it). It is no font per se, just a bunch of symbols. Not enough to correspond with every letter of our alphabet (incl. caps).
Besides, and I cry your pardon if it sounds rough, I don't really care what -you- want. Your last sentence sounds like a demand to me, and in this case the conversation is over before it even starts, as I don't owe you anything. If I was just irritated by your wording, nevermind my comment.
I have to add, if you'd analyze the ReadMe file as well, you would see that I made the font just for myself, and upped it here to share with the people who were on the search, just like you are. Many liked it (in fact it is the most downloaded font here, if I'm not mistaken, well there was a time when it was anyway), some did not. If it doesn't suit your purposes, well it's ka. It suited mine and thus fulfilled it's intention.
To answer your question directly: both.
Thank you for an amusing conversation.

@lexandr

Hi!
Sorry, my english is not very good. My problem is, that I try to translate direct from german with the same compositions and sometimes it sounds very hard. It was not an attack or depreciation of your work. I am an absolutely exact worker and most time I work on a pixel level. It is in my head, that one wrong pixel destroyes the whole work. I want make a correction of my past statement, that there will never be an exact matrix code font (unless I make it). This bad german 1:1 translation, again. What I tried to say was, I search so long for this "absolutely perfect" font, so I see only the way to do it self. Sorry again for this missunderstanding. The unexact and not so perfect lines and points in your font, is that, what I saw and that is the reason, because I can't use your font. For me is this precision important. Maybee one day, you make a version which is 100% precise. Now, I must begin with my "MATRIX CODE" font version, so you can't say, it is nothing behind these words. I let you know, when it is finished.

I wish you a lovely day.

msbazman, you can always address me in german It is I who has to cry your pardon, I interpreted your statement wrongly.

Is there any way that you can put it into another file format other than .zip? I can't open those types of files, and I really would like to use this font. Either that or somehow make a small chart with the code letter and the regular letter. I'm sorry if what I'm asking isn't posible, but I am kinda desperate to somehow get this font to work.
