Ah, fanart. The thing that grants us what we cannot have. In this particular case it's more of Muscular – My Hero Academia's best villain and The League of Villains' most undervalued player. Equally underappreciated by his boss, the fandom and the author himself. Although, in the latter case it might just be another example of Horikoshi's passionate desire to shit on every single character whose name starts with an M: Muscular, Moonfish, Mustard, Magne, Mirio… Hopefully, Mineta is next.

I find it rather amusing that back during the Training Camp Arc people criticized Muscular for being one-dimensional and lacking any motivation other than simply having fun with his quirk. Meanwhile Rappa, who is essentially a diet version of Muscular with exactly the same motivation and about as much screen time, is more beloved than Santa live-streaming a pacifist run of Undertale. Kids just don't appreciate a good violent murderer these days. No matter, I'll gladly take Rappa as well. Oh, wait… he, too, has been written out of the story after roughly 4.9 nanoseconds of screen time. It seems only the heroes are allowed to have the amazing superpower of "I can punch things really hard."

I've always been cursed with liking characters who get no screen time and no fan love. So the only thing I can do is give them more "screen time" myself. Because what is a fandom's purpose if not to right the wrongs of the source material. So, to make it up to my boy Muscular, I've decided to give him the only thing he ever wanted – Kouta's hat. I'll leave it to your imagination to decide how he got it.

I've actually started this piece over a year ago, but ran out of steam towards the end. I ended up posting an unfinished version of it on r/BokuNoHeroAcademia and called it a day. Somehow, I came back to it recently and made it more presentable. I kind of swore off fanart now that I have my own stories and characters to draw, but sometimes you just gotta give some love to a favorite. And what's the point of fanart if the fandom is never going to see it? So this is for you, the other two Muscular fans out there.
