Description
Icaronycteris is one of the oldest bats known to science. The type specimen was collected from the Eocene Green River Formation of Wyoming. This cast is on display at the Fossil Butte National Monument near Kemmerer, Wyoming. It is about 10 cm long.More information on this taxon can be found on this Wikipedia entry:

Interesting.
It has a structure that tells it is a bat, however the tail is longer than many living bats.
Fascinating.
