Description As I have stated. I conceived the first "Kimerella" illo as a one-shot. I didn't know I would do a whole series. In doing so I found that many of the orginal costumes from "Barbarella" were either ugly or impractical.

Since beginning this series, I have wiked up the factoid that the original costumes had been designed by Jacques Fonteray (with one notable exception).

I dumped the original black feather number worn by the Black Queen/Great Tyrant for the one that appears here.
Only the horn remains.

I imagine this outfit to be like wrapping the wings of a black bird around a woman's torsoe and crossing them over her breasts. All the edges are sharp and thorn-like with little hidden ruffs at the joints that only appear when flexed. I actually think that this costume could be fabricated
for real. The leggings would have to be soft boots up to the knees to become suphose up to the hips. Similar stretchy material would make the Gilda-gloves.

"Hitlerella." Lord, will that one ever stick in my frontal lobe.

Anyhow, this piece is utterly smokin'. What an intricately elegant costume, especially the joints & gloves. Even the high boots, which would usually strike me as an especially awkward garment, work so well. In addition, the incendiary eyes really have it here...and hey-attention to detail beats the reverse any day.

When I saw Kimerella, I instantly thought you were doing a Cinderella themed series. What's a Barbarella? Oh well, at least you weren't theming it off of Stripperella.

Sometimes I forget that most of the DA audience was't born when I first saw the 1968 movie "Barbarella".

It is based on a graphic novel series by French cartoonist Jean Claude Forest. For the past ten years there have been several attempts to remake this very druggy-spacey-kinky-hippie movie of the sixties.

One assumes that Forest was inspired by the name of Cinderella when he coined the name Barbarella. Shortly there after Warren Comics created Vampirella and only recently did Stan Lee create Stripperella and Princess Clara used the name Hitlerella in "Drawn Togther".
