Description
I finally got used to being in the cast. it is hot and sweaty but I have developed a good routine on doing my sponge baths myself and my mom helps a few days a week to get the spots I can't reach well. The cast is easy to hide for the most part but it makes me look fat. I finally gave up on hiding it now that I have been in it while. I get some strange looks especially from kids but most of the time people don't even notice. I have been going out around my house with my friends with just the cast showing not shirt. Life is much cooler that way and it covers my breast so it's like a shirt. Getting the cast changed was a production it took 2 hours to cut the it off and get me cleaned up. It was decided at the last minute to put me in traction for a week between cast. Doctor felt that my curve was still too tight and my muscles were not stretched very well
I had to lie in bed for a week looking at the ceiling talk about boredom. I had 50 lbs attached to my hip harness and 25 to my head. My jaw was killing me the whole time and it was hard to eat like that. here is a picture of me in traction for the first time.
