Time Bandits 1
This was presentation art done for Marvel UK way back in 1982 for them to show at the Frankfurt Book Fair or similar - can't exactly remember - to promote the upcoming Time Bandits film adaptation. I did a bunch of them - two more I'll be posting here shortly. Some were straight copies from movie stills, like this, and others imagined shots from the screen action. I did more of this stuff and on a bigger scale for a movie that didn't receive a Marvel adaptation treatment at the end of the day - Lion of the Desert.
The style used on it all was this loose but energetic pen-and-ink work, which was a very liberating style for me to work in at the time. This one was done on line board.
