Description
After several centuries of exploration and expansion, several big wars and more smaller ones and all sorts of other chaos, there is an amount of space wreckage distributed throughout the Exile's region of space. In wealthy, densely-populated systems, most of this has been cleared up, or at least shuffled onto well-defined orbits to minimise the hazards to shipping.

These two contractors are undertaking a structural survey of some debris that's left over from the Second Mechanist War. The survey is necessary before the wreckage can be shunted onto a safer orbit. It would be very awkward if it were to suddenly disintegrate halfway through the towing process! (A storm of smaller fragments is harder to deal with than one single, relatively-cohesive structure.)
