Now, it's no secret that I ADORE the apple family. It's just something about them. All their colour palettes and (most of) their designs are so so good, the names can be so fun. And perhaps it's just something about the "we're all family" thing that gets me
Regardless of what it is, I've put a WHOLE lot of thought into (at least my headcanon for) the Apple family tree and wanted to highlight some members of it, canon and of my own design. And, don't worry, to make things easier, I've put a handy little chart next to each family member to show how they're related to our dearest Applejack
Now let's explain a little, shall we?

Bonnie, Milton and Jon

Even if Miss Bonnie Best wasn't the eldest sibling, she would most likely have taken over the farm once her and her brothers' mother retired. The reason? Well, middlest child Milton Taylor wasn't...built for it, physically at least. He was great handling the finances and trading, but when it came to the actual upkeep...well, his bad back kept him from doing anything too strenuous. He still happily helps out where he can in the office, something Bonnie is very thankful for. Their younger brother, Blackjon however...yikes, what a piece of work. Jon never took the work seriously, that much was clear. If he was in control of the finances, he'd most likely waste it all on the tables. And farm work? Well, he was too busy chasing any handsome tail that so much as gave him a look to worry about the family business. He ended up running off one day, never to return to the farm. He didn't completely drop off the map however, sending correspondence to his siblings now and again. Apparently, he'd settled down and started a family, changed his ways so to speak. He'd even started up his own farm with his new husband, growing ACORNS of all things, my my...

A Sweet Family

Half Baked is, well...A bit of a dimwit. But for what he lacks in brains, he makes up for in heart! Oh, and also his uber protective Griffon husband will cut you if you even look funny in his direction. Other than that, Gumball is as big a sweetheart as his husband. Raised on the outskirts of Ponyville by his pony grandmother, Gumball never really fit in with the other foals (for being 3/4 Griffon) or with his Griffon family (for being 1/4 pony). But the apple family didn't care that none! He was welcomed with open hooves by his in-laws, and soon it was as if they'd raised him themselves. And said family was overjoyed to welcome the little Hippogriff hybrids into the clan once they came around too! Nowadays, the young'uns help their father in his sweets shop, sweets made with apples proudly donated by the apple family.

Mama's Girls

Now Goldie Delicious did so want to be a mother. Problem was she had no desire to be in a relationship, no could she carry any foals. And thus, with the help of a good friend of hers, managed to bring into the world Mademoiselles Albany Beauty, D'Arcy Spice and Pacific Rose. Yeah, having triplets was a bit of a surprise, But Goldie loves her girls with all her heart. Now, Goldie was a rather...eccentric mother. And due to this, the girls copped a bit of heat from their fellow schoolmates. Did they react to this teasing with embarrassment? Denounce their mother's strange ways? Maybe even join in and make fun of her as well? C'mon, y'all know that's not the apple family way! Nope, the girls were FIERCELY protective of their mother; all three were sent to the principle's office on several occasions. They do mellow out with age (more like others learned not to badmouth Goldie to their faces lol). And once the old girl finally ambles off to that big stable in the sky, her daughters will proudly and dutifully take over as the official apple family historians (with the aid of Apple Bloom). Oh, they'll also care for her cats, don't worry.

A Delicate Flower

Red Bouquet Delicious, more going by his stage name of Bouquet nowadays, wasn't cut out for the farm life, much like his estranged uncle Jon. Not for lack of trying on Bouquet's part at least. So badly did he want to make his mother happy. But it was clear that he couldn't live up to the standard that his younger sisters set. Thus he left the farm behind, taking up random gigs in nightclubs and lounges before catching the eye of a famous club owner (no, I don't have a name for him, he's not really important). He became headliner at said club and trophy husband of said owner. Then, when the old codger shuffled off, became majority owner himself, what a deal! He didn't forget his humble roots, however, and would visit his sisters and niblings as much as possible and, of course, bringing extravagant gifts. Yeah, he was Bright Mac's favourite uncle lol.

Upside Down and Right Side Up

Not much to say about these two, just that I've always loved Apple Split and a fellow mod in the Ponydoodles server brought up the idea of him having a twin that has the missing apple halves to make his cutiemark. And thus, Apple Dip was born! I like to think the two run a restaurant, the main attraction being their famous Apple Dip's apple dip (they swear it isn't 'just apple sauce')

Crystal Apple

When Princess Cadence got her cutiemark, she was confused as to what that crystal heart could possibly mean. Well, as we know, it solidified her fate as the future empress of the then lost crystal empire. It's much the same with Scarlet Gala. Except, instead of being empress, she was destined to open up the crystal empire branch of the apple family. It's an honour she didn't take lightly. She'd settle there with her husband, famed Wonderbolt Silver Zoom, not long after it was recovered, having children and putting them to work practically as soon as they could walk (just kidding).

Where it all began

And now we arrive at the furthest back I've thought (so far at least), Applejack's great great grandmother, Apple Delight! Delight is spoken about with great reverence and, although AJ never met her, she feels as if she knew her personally with how lovingly her grandmother spoke of her. Truly, Apple Delight as created a legacy to be proud of.

And so that's that! I started working on this before my big burnout and I really wanted to get back to it cause, like I said, this family means a lot to me
Also I changed Granny Smith's mother's and uncles' names; Never really liked their old ones.
