facade exists simply to hide? Will you know what
you've done to me, and what has simply been living
there always?

If I smile now, will it go on forever or will you trap
it in your hands and hold it close? If the tears
come now, will they fall into eternity or soak into you?

I want to make my hurt a part of you apart
from me so you can understand all it is that I
have loved you for since forever.

If I crack my mask, will you let me smash yours?

If I come naked before you, will you reveal yourself
to me? If I say I understand, will you know
if I mean it?

I'm going to scar you with my love. I am going
to help you I'm going to hinder you because that's
what lovers do. My imperfections iwll be yours to
cherish, and with my affection your impurities
will become my favorite things about you.

But, still, you wear this mask. I am handing you
mine. I am letting you see me as I should have
from the start. Compare me and the other me. Who
can you love? I will be either.

Wear your mask and I will layer the porcelain
with my kisses. Shed it and I will decorate your
skin with my love. Either way, I will give you everything.

So, I am waiting. I am holding out my mask for you.

It's for you to crack. It's for you to smash. Dispose of
it however you like, or keep it near. Even beneath
it, even wearing it, I love you. Even the fake me will
love you.

You kissed me when I wasn't real. Try again now that
