i can speculate for you - keep in mind i am NOT the artist - i have just watch HOURS (days worth total) of youtube on how to do this
if you look carefully a lot of this library is just reused assets
so asset creation = about 2 hours - background and layout = about 1 hour
duplicate, rotate, sque, flip, mirror, recolor, and place assets = (tops) 1 hour
final shading and image b4 adding characters = final hour (an hour might be too much here but rounding is good)
so the library and all panels about 5 hours

I have take 2 weeks for realesed the background of the differents panels.
I think 5 hours, for me is just for create a book range.
To realized different elements of a page, It take a many, many many ... time.

also with respect - i thought you did it this way -
- create one book , then duplicate, rotate, re-size, skew, and flip the book to
- create 5 stacks of books each with 5 books, no 2 stacks the same, each stack on it's own layer, stacks can be up to down or left to right
- then duplicate, rotate, re-size, skew, and flip the stacks and place them on the shelves while erasing the extras (to make a 5 stack a 3 stack)
- repeat with scrolls
- recolor as necessary
- new layer for shading
i apologize, do not mean to cause offence, you are really good at what you do
also must ask - flash or photo shop ?

I just precise it was a very loooooonnnnng work for realised this pages with many meticulous elements in the background. ( background is not my favourite step during the page creation)
I also realized much of the page as having been sick.
I have used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop.
