This is extremely clever. It actually feels sideways, which is hard to do, as most of these kind of shots you know were shot one way, then twisted to give a different perspective. But this looks shot side on, and feels SSSOOOO much better for it. It makes it look like the model is stepping through ice or some mystical field. I am really impressed with this Dale. Makes me wish I had of gotten off my ares and taken the water shots I wanted too...

thanks for this - apart from the 90 degree rotation i also tilted the image to get the exact angle i wanted. i needed her to look like se was looking out through the water and a slight difference would have killed the illusion
as for getting off your arse - there is no time like the present.

i love it
i love the symmerty in the pic, i love the mode's face, she looks like an angel
obviously the orientation gives this pic a really big PLUS
in my humble opinion i would try a more contrasted version just for fun

flat water. yes maybe. but the texture is cool and try get water to stay still in a pool with a person in it. even breathing creates ripples.

Very other-worldly and well taken image! Your model looks very much at ease...
Although I have seen this technique before, for some reason this conjours up memories of [link]
With a sword, I'm sure Elizabeth would make a very beautiful "Lady of the Lake...."

thanks nat!
the idea made itself known when we were taking the shot.
floating the pool, i was showing her the shot on the back of the camera "nice!", and then rotated the camera and said "or... we can do this". the response was "wow!"
appreciation is the greatest inspiration
