Victor von Doom is a complex person, which is not a surprise considering he is a polymath. As a person who believes in Science and Magic, he is anomaly within an enigma. Despite his villainous nature, borne out of necessity and pride, in the aftermath of Secret Wars, where Mr. Fantastic healed his scarred face, Victor opted to turn over a new leaf, and left Latveria to aid Iron Man. Upon Iron Man's incapacitation by Captain Marvel, Victor Von Doom took over the mantle as the Infamous Iron Man, where he successfully negated various criminal elements that surfaced after the apparent death of Tony Stark. Though an encounter with the Hood and the general disbelief accorded him by heroes and villains, Victor Von Doom proved his worth, and I personally hope that he regains this mantle once more as the Infamous Iron Man.
