I understood how the puppets need to be animated/designed in Adobe Flash. I don't have that app but I'd like to try and make different poses by myself. Would other Adobe programs work? (Illustrator, Photoshop, or Acrobat)? Or is there a download I could find for Adobe Flash? If all else fails, I could maybe request/pay different poses when the time comes.

Lightning-Bliss In reply to BlueEngineLiz6 [2020-03-26 17:06:39 +0000 UTC]
You can purchase older softwares of Adobe Flash via by disc if you can find a copy, those aren't cheap but it's an option for you. Or you can continue purchasing poses from me for $1 each after purchasing the puppet (that's a one time payment).

Hmm for a lively hood I'd say more than fair pricing and I hope to save enough to commission you sometime soon. I am curious though as I'm still trying to understand shading in art, why is soft shade $15 more then cell shade? I'm not complaining just curious.
π: 0 β©: 1
Lightning-Bliss In reply to ChronoTheChangeling [2020-01-13 02:39:26 +0000 UTC]
It takes a lot more time and detail into it rather then simple cell shade requires low opacity black coloring, where as soft shade can take up to many colors and blending without the use of lines to guide me. In sum up, soft shading takes more time for me to do lol.

So I have another question. I understand you don't DO NSFW images, but what if for a reference of a character all someone had at the moment is a NSFW reference?
π: 0 β©: 1
Lightning-Bliss In reply to ChronoTheChangeling [2020-01-13 22:03:00 +0000 UTC]
Cannot help you I'm afraid. Either find a censored version of the reference or try another artist. I have a strict policy against it, apologies for the inconvience andΒ thank you!

Whoah 35$ for unnicorn??? I dont like the prices Why is this so expensive? I would ask for a Commission, but only for DA Points. And this is probably not accepted right?Β

Lightning-Bliss In reply to NicoMaleUnicorn [2020-01-11 16:47:27 +0000 UTC]
"Whoah 35$ for a unnicorn???" - A Unicorn "Puppet", a puppet is used to make several poses or vectors with; like we Reviewers use in our show. (Read the Commission Guide for more details)
"I don't like the price" - Then go somewhere else?
"Why is this so expensive?" - This is my livlihood, I base my prices on quality, time, reputation and speed it takes me to make them.
"I Would ask for a Commission but only for DA Points" - Then again, go somewhere else, Points won't pay my bills.
"And this is probably not accepted right" - If you mean I dont' accept points, no I do not. At this point though you've been rather rude in this comment so I don't think I'd want your business anyway lol. I highly recommend you watch these video and rethink your comments next time you are going to bash artists this way, because your comment gets an A+ when it comes to artists avoiding clients like you, thanks for making it easy for us to spot you.

Of course it's not too late to fix your mistake, an apology would be nice, and maybe if you don't like the prices of an artist or can't afford them, then find another artist in your price range and don't take the time to make these kinds of comments because other artists will SEE THIS and not want to do business with you at all because of how bluntly rude you were being.
You have a good day now.

Sorry, your "puppets" look like plainly used bases from ponymaker or the show itself. Always consider this isn't even stylized and copyrighted owned by hasbro. To take nearly 30 dollar for something that is copyrighted and just added a few vectorized add-ons I find it also super overpriced.Β
If it would be a clearly vector in your style I can't judge the pricing. But like said, these puppets look like traced straight out of the show and you can even put 1:1 the original model on top.

Lightning-Bliss In reply to JackyBunnyBun [2020-01-20 03:20:40 +0000 UTC]
Your concern is noted but I assure you that I do not trace, and quite honestly find it offensive of the accussation.
For more information just to show as such that I do not, feel free to watch the tutorial on how I make my own puppets - www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeCfXzβ¦
You have a good day.

JackyBunnyBun In reply to Lightning-Bliss [2020-01-20 09:21:29 +0000 UTC]
It's true and I take it back with tracing. But still it's 1:1 a models style an can be even overlayed like iΒ mentioned. So it's still trademarked. For your style it's clearly different how you can see it on your OC, that would be okay to vectorize and sell it.Β But something that has no difference of hasbro's styleΒ is still questionable. And to say that it loooks traced is not an accussation if the model fit 1:1. (yes I took the time to check before I write a comment and put some kirin models and filly models on top and weirdly that most of body parts fit 1:1. not even height or width differences) so who wouldn't think you trace?Β
Well I as artist find it also offensive to have 1:1 the same style, models and even pose than aΒ show and sell it for such a high price if I would simply add a few vectors like aΒ horn or wings but bashing someone if they say the prices are too high xD
Again , I even mentioned in my first comment that your OC and your other ways of commission slots I can't say anything about, but merely about your hasbro copies

Lightning-Bliss In reply to JackyBunnyBun [2020-01-20 17:19:39 +0000 UTC]
I don't trace or copy on top of Hasbro's work, though I will look up character references for visual aid yes like most artists. At one point yes I used original assets from Hasbro a long time ago and made a public apology about it, a mistake which comments like these make me wonder whether or not I can still do what I do today because people like you still doubt. However I went straight away to making my own puppets from scratch after my plunder, fixing every single commissioned puppet and their vectors upon their request, for each client that I had wronged, for free, as this was the right thing to do. The puppets I use now which you see today are my own assets that I built up, that you are so boldly accusing, are not directly copied or traced, this has been verified by other artists.
If they are close to if not similar (or 1:1 in some places as you stated) is likely because I worked hard for days on end to get them as close as possible to the original style. In other words I put in effort, a lot of effort. And based on your artwork I can see you put in a lot of effort to be a specific style too. I could say some of those facial designs are 1:1 on some characters I know, but I donβt say this. Know why? Because I bet youβre good at your craft and I respect any artist for that, I certainly donβt make these accusations, barking the rights, when Iβm not breaking any laws, same as you, and Iβm not trying to derail anyone else's business.Β
While I appreciate your "concern", at this point you are just starting to sound like r/choosingbegger, you don't like my price, and more likely you just don't like me, which is fine I can't impress everyone, But your efforts to shame me with these claims for some gain, when you already stated βI take back tracingβ, but continue to comment backΒ in some odd attempt to make me stop selling them or give them out for free? when I worked so hard to make my own after learning from my mistakes? Sir/madem, I will not be having this conversation with you any longer. If you are not interested in my commissions, then move along.
You have a good day.

So if I wanted to use the puppets for my youtube channel, would it be allowed, and would I need a special editing program to use them? (PS, when would you be open to commissions again?)

Lightning-Bliss In reply to Waynelight1 [2019-11-23 05:21:15 +0000 UTC]
These puppets can be used if you have an updated version of Adobe Flash. If you don't have the software or can't afford it I can provide you with vectors of that puppet for a dollar per pose. I only ask that when you use your puppet/vectors in your videos that you give credit to the artist who makes them. I reopen back up in December. Thank you!

Waynelight1 In reply to Lightning-Bliss [2019-11-23 05:44:03 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. I do have plans for purchasing puppets from you when December comes around. I'll remember to send you a note when the time comes. (I will make sure that my first video when I start uploading again will be my re-analysis of Aeon. I will be using your critiques and will use the facts from the other videos to gain a better understanding of him. As for the threat part, I think a batman way of looking at it is that the majority of the bronies in the Rift can be classified as a threat, but it doesn't mean that he or any of your friends should be treated as such. Out of character, I will respect him and his decisions. If my character ever does meet him, he would fear and have a strong distrust of him, but this is merely a character trait and not something that I will personally have against him.) Thank you for your help and constructive criticism.

Another thing I might do if I can afford it is getting a photo of you arguing with my OC because I call Twink "a puppy, a great big rainbow-colored poochy". (A callback to a show that's a lot older than me.)
