Description
This is by far my favorite bookbinding stitch that I've learned so far. It's called the ethiopian stitch and it is so fun, and makes such a nice binding stitch! Covered in plain book cloth with marbled end pages. I also hand-dyed all the interior pages with tea so that they'd match the cover and overall feel of the book better.Note: for the love of god, do not use vegetable/olive oil based methods for making marbled paper. Our class was experimenting with it & it makes really nice patterns, but the oil NEVER DRIES OUT, hence, the oil spots on the pages. My leftover sheets are still wrapped in newspaper to stop the oil from getting absolutely everywhere.
This turned out to be a sort of precursor to my final project which looks completely different but I had similar ideas in store for the content of both of them. I keep this one and its brother in my nightstand. I love them so much <3
