Description
For a while, I imagined different scenarios on Kai and Varuna's interactions, despite being from different universes, and I decided to draw some bird's-eye view of them! After watching some episodes of the Original Saga, I felt even more inspired to make this artwork. Some would point out "hey she looks like a genderbend of Kai!" and while this mildly annoys me, I can see where they are coming from and understand that. Let's say this artwork is a form of "comparison" between the two because while they seem visually alike, the only things they do have in common are the hair colors, a piece of cloth worn around the neck, and the face paint.

I have discovered that Kai wore face paint because he was part of the Blade Sharks I think, and it all makes sense now to me XD
Varuna coincidentally wears face paint as a symbol of association with a particular group.

When I revamped my character, I only had a few things in mind: The hair's shape contrast to Ryuga's and the colors of blue and white (Before I gave her a red bandana), and a loose inspiration from a fan character, Alyssah, of a fellow artist Alorous (Side topic: While I deeply dislike her character, I am frustrated and sad that the artist hasn't posted anything in her gallery since like 2016. Remember, just because I don't like the character doesn't mean I dislike the creator. She is an artist like I am and I hope to see more of her and her art). Kai barely had a glimpse in my mind when I made her redesign due to my lack of interest in the Original Saga at the time. I can actually imagine Varuna and Kai as siblings, but because they exist in different universes, I doubt such a thing would happen, but it's a nice thing to joke about.

Funny enough, is the second time I actually drew Kai or anyone from the Original Saga. XD
