G1 Princess Luna

Decided to craft another Princess Luna custom from a generation 1 Sweet Heart Sister pony base.

Used generation 4 Princess Celestia horn and wings on this, coated entire figure in white gesso.

Full body repaint in pthalo blue acrylics, though the paint is old and needs replaced which resulted in a rougher texture to the paint so I priced this figure lower than I normally would have.

Eyes hand-painted, cutiemarks and moons hand painted, hoof armor is cut from silver vinyl and also painted. All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish.

Chest crest and crown are cut from thick black leather.

Mane and tail are rooted in dyed mohair I found locally at last year’s Garlic Fest. I stocked up on lots of interesting colors and I feel it makes perfect Luna hair. Also perfect Pinkie Pie hair. Possibly Celestia, too. I might make her with mohair.
