Description Watch on Youtube here (youtu.be/b178BMxpKFA ).  Its a better experience but I've typed out why 50 million times at this point and don't feel like doing it again.

“Don’t worry Pyra, I’ll create a magic block and we can use it for cover!”  Lana concentrated and then stuck out her hand.  She and Pyra were engaged in a friendly competition against some other characters that aren’t on screen because the animator made the story after the animation.

Suddenly, Pyra felt something under her feet.  She looked down and then was shot high up into the sky by Lana’s block.  She had placed it too close to Pyra, and accidently launched her into the air.

Pyra was worried she was going to be flattened as she fell down.  She was launched really high and was certain that impacting the ground at this speed would flatten her, taking her out of their battle.  Fortunately for her, her fall was broken by something soft and squishy.

“Oh, great Lana.  I’m okay.  We can continue fighting as normal.”  Pyra looked around but didn’t see her friend.

Little did she know, that soft and squishy thing that had broken her fall had been none other than her friend.  Pyra might have been able to continue fighting, but Lana was looking a little too out of shape.

Notes:

This was a request of NightGamerX, who wanted a sort of replication of this image ( www.deviantart.com/squishypalu… ) by SquishPalu, which was a comic where Pit lands on Palutena and flattens her.  By the way you should totally check him out if you like my work because he is way better at this than I am.  Anyways, I wasn’t super keen on doing this as it had already been done, but it hadn’t been done as an animation, and I think it turned out really well.

I love how Pyra is sort of in an idle combat stance at the beginning.  Its not very good, but its the bones of a good idle.  Hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate it into future works.  And she looks really good as she falls down too.  I think the jackknife pose as she falls before she spreads out when she actually hits the ground really sells how quickly she’s falling.  Lana’s poses and stuff are okay but not amazing or anything.  They’re pretty decent for not using IKs (something I give characters so I can move their bones more easily but didn’t because I’m lazy.)  She looks okay but not great.

Anyways let me know if you have any requests you’d like me to do.  That’s really all I have to say.  Hope you all enjoy this one.
