Sorry, just bothered by "mb". That doesn't stand for any liquid measurement I'm familiar with.

I believe it's a reference to a data measurement; MegaBytes, to be exact... although, that is my opinion, I dunno for sure

Despite the (for me) surprisingly large amount of negative feedback, I'll just have my say in this...
LiiQa, don't listen to the negative stuff said about this picture. Even though I've only looked at the confused and nonsensical comments on the first page, I think I've seen enough.
In short:
The picture is AMAZING, okay?

I'm sorry, I just can't get into this. The spacing looks extremely choatic. The needle isnt the traditional syringe where the needle is centered. And the blood is suppose to represent what? Maybe if you had an arm next too it and had all the veins showing. But instead of blood have really small words like "addicted, blog, twitter etc".

oh gosh it's a concept to represent the internet addiction. it is not supposed to be real or something, it doesn't need anything else, nice and clean!

Ninva In reply to onigiri-mikachi-chan [2009-03-17 22:13:34 +0000 UTC]

No one is suggesting anything. LiiQa can learn from "mistakes." This picture isn't perfect. What is? Nothing.

You don't have to defend an artist.

onigiri-mikachi-chan In reply to Ninva [2009-03-17 22:15:38 +0000 UTC]

No no, I know, but I'm just saying that it's a good picture, it simply doesn't need to be bashed for the syringe and needle being different from what they are used to. Nothing is perfect, you are correct.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ninva In reply to onigiri-mikachi-chan [2009-03-17 23:13:17 +0000 UTC]

I truly disagree. They are not bashing her photo. There are a few questions that people want answered. If the artist really cared about their comments, he/she (didn't take time to look up LiiQa's gender) could've replied. But he/she did not. So that is a message itself. We could either assume he/she didn't know what to say to the criticism or he/she doesn't care. I personally believe she simply doesn't care to explain herself, and I respect that. That's up to the artist. I remember posting stories, which were unnecessarily torn apart by critics. Their words did not kill me. They made me a better writer through their cruelty.

My point is that you shouldn't discourage criticism. They play an important role in improvement. dA is meant for two things: have lots of fun and learn more about our craft. Criticism crafts the young artist into a fine, semi-professional craftsmen. Is this horrible? No. Imagine if music wasn't refined. It'd just be a lot of noise. Who wants to pay someone for making a lot of noise? Not I.

Ninva In reply to LiiQa [2009-03-18 13:05:55 +0000 UTC]

That's very good. It's just one of my many pet peeves, I suppose. No one can criticize a popular image anymore. How will you improve? I was frustrated. Someone shouldn't shun others from speaking their minds, and the criticize wasn't that heavy. In no way do I believe those two "bashed" you. I think it's all silly, and those who can't handle critique should shut their mouths especially when they comment other people's work because there are more of worshipers than skeptics.

Take care.

i dont what day in the past your stuck in, but all syringes now have the needle place at the the side, not centered int he middle.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

L-o-Z In reply to aspirin111 [2009-03-17 21:23:49 +0000 UTC]

Yes but that needle isn't even attached to the syringe. Not to mention, needles I've seen on syringes aren't clear.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aspirin111 In reply to L-o-Z [2009-03-17 21:28:52 +0000 UTC]

uh, yeah, it IS attached to the syringe.

And the needle isnt clear, its metallic it just has fake blood running down the side which might make it look like its clear for you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

L-o-Z In reply to aspirin111 [2009-03-18 01:49:00 +0000 UTC]

Uh, no, it ISN'T attached. If you look at the end of the actual cylindrical tube, you'll see that the place where the needle SHOULD be attached is in the center. However, the needle, which OVERLAPS the tube, is towards the side.

So, yeah - go fuck yourself.

SilverBellsAbove In reply to ??? [2009-03-17 20:53:54 +0000 UTC]

One question--

the needle has blood on it, so it's assumed the needle is used.

Yet the needle is still full.

Is the needle administering the internet as assumed? But the only way for a needle to be both used and full is for it to have taken something out... or if it had simply pricked the skin and not injected anything at all?

Sorry. I'm not an expert on needles or anything. D:
