Roger, once driving down a small road, spotted a battered sign advertising puppies for sale. The breeder, a small time newcomer to the business, had placed a set of new puppies for sale. Needing mates for Perdita and Blaze to meet the contract they had signed to get the two back, and knowing that Anita would be over the moon if he brought one home, Roger first selected a freckle faced female puppy, but before he could leave, he was pounced on by a small escapee.

Pongo and Dreamer were close as newborns, a relationship that they have let slip as they have grown, but at the time he couldn't bear to part with her. Amused, Roger decided to take them both, and ended up with a new favorite of the pack.

Perdita was not so amused by the squirming puppy brought into the house. She was nearly six months older than him, and even though she had no ideas about the plans the humans had for her future, she wanted nothing to do with him. Pongo was much too young to care, and it wasn't until he was almost full grown that he became smitten with the icy beauty.

His charm eventually won her over, and they were soon expecting a litter of their own. Their fifteen puppies were a handful, especially with so many others in the house around them. After their pups were stolen, Pongo was the one that lead the charge, with his mate and her siblings at his side. They managed to successfully save their bunch, and the 84 others kept with them. It took some time, but Pongo finally learned each one of their names and faces, and by the time the pups were six months old, they were just as much his own.

Pongo and Perdita never had another litter, although they did consider it from time to time, and instead focused on the multitude of grandpups that were sure to come.
