Description EDIT!
opps after many many months i realized it submitted this twice and several months apart...so i put this one in scraps and changed the title VS delete so it could stay in peoples faves

Will i ever tire of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time? likely not. i have played it 14 times and i am now working on the Master Quest version of it for a 3rd time. for me the game just holds such meaning and enchantment and i find myself wishing the world in the game was real... i fascinate about Link a lot as the game leaves the character open for your imagination to fill in the gaps.

i see him as a sort of lonely character i mean just look at waht goes on in the game; we learn that his mother entered the woods wounded in a war and just before she died she entrusted her baby (Link) to the Great Deku Tree who had him raised as one of the Kokiri or "fairy children".... basically his life was a lie, he was no Kokiri but a Hylian and that is why he was known as "the child without a fairy". you can tell by Mido's taunting that Link was an outcast and so had a hard beginning in life. and so i think that after the end of the game Link would have felt very out of place, he no longer could live with the Kokiri, his friends, including his best friend Saria, are now sages and would remain in the temples, and even Navi the fairy is gone. despite Navi's irritating nagging (hence my nickname for her "Naggie") she was his constant and cherished companion and he is still confused and saddened by her sudden departure

here Link sits perched on a wall against a tree that has grown over the stones somewhere deep within the Lost Woods, this is a place he knows by heart and he knows that very few people can navigate through the woods so it is unlikely he will be disturbed, a good thing as he enjoys his solitude. his heavy gauntlets, boots and gear are removed to make himself more comforatble, besides, its not like he even needs them any more as the land is at peace... the floating glowing fairy bugs off the Lost Woods surround him (which they really do that if you hold still in the game) and illuminate him in the darkness of the woods. He lazily stretches out a hand to allow one to land and he looks upon it, reminiscing about the past and about his lost friend, Navi.

No reference used except for my foot as feet are a strange thing to draw. made with colored pencil and a white oil pastel stick.

Aww, poor Link... he is a bit of a tragic figure. I do get a bit annoyed at Zelda for sending him back - he's going to lose everyone he's met, go back to being the Boy Without A Fairy... and since Saria's gone off to be a Sage, he's lost his best friend as well. Poor kid!

Great image, though. I adore the Lost Woods, it has a cool feel to it.

In my 13 year old world, we call this awsome. The colors go well together. Link looks natural in this setting.

Keep up the good work! =]

I quite agree. I think he would be a lonely character too. I mean, 4 girls chase him and he can't even pick one? X3
Very nice work though. I really like how you pulled off the Lost Woods Firefly thingies

Ooh, nice. I love the glowy bits of the fairies, and the coloring's nice in general. Also agree with the story bit, it'd really suck to go save the world just to lose the people who are close to you. :/
