This is a Contest entry for

I really wanted to participate because I've never drawn an anthro dog before, or at least i cannot recal if I have haha, but I figured this would be a great challenge for myself to see if I could accompish something decent.
Overall I'm pretty happy with myself, only issue i have is the color, my scanner kind of kills it, but at least on paper it looks nice. Concept wise I love it! Even if she doesnt win I'm more than happy to keep her too myself :ww:

Anyways, the breed of dog I choose to base my drawing off of was the Akita Inu (short hair), my most favorite. Independent, smart and docile, yet reserved and noble. A wonderful breed but only for expirenced owners of course, I hear they are very high maintanace!

I choose a red coated akita, because I just love the colors, but also because I felt it'd be easier for me to illustrate when compared to the Brindle akita. Which by the way are just as gorgeous, here are some refs of the brindle coat variations
