Description
"I know," Dolly smiled at Woody, smiling at Bonnie as she fidgeted in a dream. "You think you'll never really love again. Then she picks you up and holds you and you can't remember what it was like to be lonely."Where was she now, he wondered? Swimming with rainbow fish through sunken cities? Running through jungles of giant flowers? She had tucked him in beside her. Maybe she was singing in the streets of a little western town, where she would need a brave and loyal sheriff.
Had he ever been this happy?
I think I love Bonnie so much because she reminds me of my little sister (who is not so little now) when she was that age. Big dark eyes, cute as a bug's ear. She's always been so creative and funny and different, a galoshes-and-a-tutu kind of girl. And she was always sweet to her toys. She even had a Godzilla who had his own booties!
I hope it doesn't need to be said, but any inappropriate comments will get you deleted and blocked without prelude. Be nice.

That's pretty touching. I loved Toy Story 3 and this encapsulates the ending very well. It was a grand full-circle conclusion to a phenomenal story and this is a wonderful depiction of it's spirit.

Makes me want to cry in a good way . I would believe he'd fall back into loving being loved by a child, no matter the child and no matter the time

At the end of the film, I still hoped Andy would keep the toys so he could give them to his kids someday. But if they had to move on, if it had to end the way it did, I'm glad Bonnie got them. She was my favorite character in the movie--even beating out FABULOUS! Ken.
I love this image. Bonnie is so sweet. Woody is so touching. I love your Toy Story works.

You gotta figure, if Bonnie's mom and Andy's mom know each other, maybe those toys will stay in basically the same circle. I hope so! Alls I know is, if i had an antique as awesome as Woody, I wouldn't be letting him go.

I never got that, either. Sure, the rest of Andy's toys one can assume were bought just for him. But Andy's mom calls Woody a "family heirloom" in the second film, which I took to mean he was either her toy, or Andy's father's. Besides, Woody is worth a lot of money. Even if Andy doesn't want to play with him, why not keep him to give to his kids?
I don't know. I know the ending is meant to be a bittersweet take on growing up and showing that life goes on, but wouldn't it have been just as bittersweet to have the toys accept their attic confinement? Why not have an epilogue at the end where they're brought back out and the first thing we see from Woody's POV is a little boy who looks a lot like Andy (or maybe even a little girl)? And then we hear Andy's voice saying something like, "These were my toys when I was your age." The child picks Woody up, maybe hugs him, then picks up Buzz. Just like in the first movie, they smile at each other and know that they're home again.
Oh, now I've depressed myself. I mean, I love Bonnie, and like I said, if they had to move away from Andy I'm glad Bonnie is their new owner. I just wish Andy had kept them. Don't even get me started on Bo.

The one thing that confused me about the movie was that during almost all of it Woody was real persistent on them going back to Andy and staying loyal to him and whatnot, even after playing with Bonnie... and then he makes a last second decision to go with Bonnie. It kinda threw me off, but I love Bonnie to bits and staying in the attic seems like a sad way for the toys to end up so no complaints XD
I really love what you did with this picture The emotion in it is just so precious~ Makes my heart thump

I think it just took Woody that long to realize that he and the others had been what they needed to be for Andy, and that now Bonnie needed them. Maybe he had to spent that much time away from his friends to realize he would be miserable without them?

That's a good way of putting it; I guess I can go with that. I just wish the movie itself had given a more explicit explanation. Even just a simple "Well gee, I think Bonnie needs us more than Andy now" would have left me satisfied

To preserve the surprise of seeing Woody in the bottom of the box, they couldn't show us his decision to join his friends, but I bet it would've been a great little scene. "Woody, what are you doing! Andy's gonna leave without you!" "Yeah, you know... I think I'll stick around." Or something to that effect. ;D

The tenderness of Woody's gaze is so, so sweet. You, like the folks at Pixar, really have a knack for giving a toy such tangible humanity. I love it.

i couldn't help but cry when andy gave up all the guys, though. i'm kinda a hoarder of sentimental things, so i probably would've rather put them up in the attic rather than donate them, unless i met a kid like bonnie that i KNEW i could trust to take care of them
