Honestly, the fact that something like this can go up to the frontpage upsets me...
I think it proves just how warped 
I mean, if you want to create art, MAKE ART FOR THE PURE JOY OF MAKING ART! Why would you give a SINGLE DAMN to PAGEVIEWS? Art is NOT about people seeing it at all, art is about EXPRESSING YOURSELF, not creating something to satisfy OTHERS. I mean, sure I appreciate watchers and all, but why is that more IMPORTANT than creating the art itself?
It makes me depressed to see how desperate people have become for pageviews and favorites rather than appreciating the process of creating art itself...

Being upset about what makes it to the front page is being upset at people's tastes. People forget that the things make it to the front page because they're clicked on a lot or commented a lot or fave'd a lot or looked at a lot. Getting to the front page is not the artist's doing. They can have the best art in the world but only their quickies and crappy stuff call people's attention and that's what gets to the front page. It's not based on merit like the DDs (which is also arguable), it's just based on what people like to see.

Just because someone draws in the "anime/manga" style does not mean they're "abandoning their own unique styles". There are so many unique styles within that category, which is pretty vague, IMO.

I saw your gallery and I find it truly beautiful, especially the roses that you took pictures of. I was just venting a little because I'm really tired of people running around asking for llamas or begging for a watch. I've seen people do giveaways that said "You have to watch me and I don't care if you only do it for the points", and it just makes me feel really sad...
So yeah, sorry if I offended you by accident or anything.

Well, my view on this, more or less, is:
If I go on my page and see like over 9000 *crushes scouter* pageviews, then I'd be like "DAW YAY! PEOPLE LIKE ME :3" but, pageviews aren't the most amazing thing ever.
I mean, here I am doing one of those cliche movie lessons, but, it's your opinion that counts.
And like one of our very popular Deviants here on DeviantArt, TomPreston, has half stated in one of his works,
one of the works you may have spent HOURS on and looks very nice, may have less views than something you spent five minutes on (It really is a funny Deviation where he has this stated XD)
But all in all, I do find the emoticon thingeh quite entertaining. He looks so angry! XD
Kudos to you and your 11,238 views on this Deviation in one day. I'm sincerely jealous.

It was some kind of funny experiment. Because I exactly experienced what TomPreston experienced: that your most accomplished work sometimes get's the least recognition. Here is something I spend about 400 hours on and I consider it one of my best graphic works if not the best: [link]

No, you are right, I don't need page views. I notice you, I had a look into your gallery. You create cute drawings and you have a very subtle pen stroke (if you know what I mean) but you still have time to evolve and refine your style. And please don't compare with me. Look how much longer I've been here, look how many pictures I have submitted and except for this one they are often complex and based on a lot of experience and work. Good luck to you!

page views are just numbers, someone probably saw the page some odd thousand , or hundred times but they probably looked over it once , left and forgot about it. I guess some people need those high numbers to feel good about themselves, me I go by quality not quantity.

I'd just like more people to LOOK at my art and give me tips for improvement. When I ask my friends, I get "LAWL OMG COOLEST EVAH", and then I post it and realize that in the grand scheme of things, it sucks. u_u
