Description

Name: Julian Keiser

Age: 40

Gender: Cis Male

Orientation: Homosexual

Species: Human

Height: 5’10

Weight: 155 lbs

STATS:

STR: 1
DEX: -1
INTL: 2
SOC: 6

Personality:

Considerate: Julian is very thoughtful towards the needs of others! He never wants to cause (genuine) trouble for others or cause conflict.

Friendly: He isn’t shy and he’s pretty comfortable with approaching and talking with people that he doesn’t know. I wouldn’t say he’s an extrovert, but having lively conversations with others isn’t a problem for him.

Silly: Julian’s a pretty mischievous guy. He loves joking around with others and having fun. If he finds out about nerf guns, he’s absolutely buying a whole shopping cart full (or two) to have a good time.

Horn-dog: He would never overstep boundaries or do anything without consent, but when in a relationship, Julian can get pretty steamy with his partner. He tends to slip in innuendos and inappropriate jokes at every opportunity with his partner or with friends that he’s REALLY comfortable with. It could probably get a little exasperating, especially if the mood doesn’t call for those jokes, but they can be really funny and entertaining.

Completionist: Julian hates to be interrupted when he’s really focused on something. He can have workaholic tendencies and if no one is there to remind him to sleep or eat, he will end up working through the night without realizing it. He’ll also try to read books in one sitting if you let him. At least you’ll know if you give him a task, he’ll finish it, but he might ignore the world in the process.

Distracted/Clumsy:  Living with Julian, it’s common to hear the man tripping over things, bumping into tables, and walking into walls. He will also frequently leave books and things lying around with the intention of putting them back, but he ends up forgetting about them.

History:

(To clarify, this is the same world that Morris Dupree (tortaleenie ‘s character) exists in. I have permission from her!)

Warnings: brief and subtle mention of someone worrying about whether someone else is going to commit suicide or not.

(TLDR; Julian met Morris at choir practice. They literally came out of the closet to Morris’ dad. Julian got a job as a luthier apprentice and eventually became a luthier, himself. He was in a relationship with Morris for 20 years before Morris killed the Prince and got executed. Julian died three-ish months later because he was poisoned by Morris’ mother.)

Julian’s family was a lower-middle class family in the Isles of Viche. His parents were pretty dedicated and faithful to the religion of the Isles, and they encouraged Julian and his younger brother to be active in the church. Since Julian played the violin and his brother had a decent singing voice, they decided to join the choir.

Neither brother was really enthusiastic to join a choir full of (mostly) middle-aged people, so when they saw Morris Dupree, who was the closest in age to them, Julian and his brother made a beeline towards the other teen. Thankfully, they became fast friends, and choir practice started looking like less of a chore. It helped that Morris was 100% Julian’s type and so he had some nice eye candy to admire for each practice.

It wasn’t long after they first met that Morris invited Julian over to his house (mansion), allowing Julian to learn even more about the ‘cute-boy-from-choir-practice’. Like the fact that this poor guy had no friends except for a little kid prince who was even younger than Julian’s brother! Morris seemed unsurprisingly enthusiastic to suddenly have a friend that was only three years younger than him, and Julian was even more charmed than before.

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision for the two of them to begin a relationship with each other. In fact, they were literally in a closet together when they decided that kissing sounded like a nice idea, and when they came out of it, Morris’ dad was walking past.

Later, Julian would find it absolutely hilarious, but at the time, he was embarrassed as HECK.

The years went on, and Julian became an apprentice to a Luthier, choosing practicality instead of chasing his dreams of working as a soloist, pressured to make a living in the world. When he first decided on this route, Julian was extremely upset and disappointed in himself for not being “good enough” to achieve his original dream, and it took years to work through his feelings about it, with Morris being a very supportive partner every step of the way.

As it became obvious that their relationship was heading towards something long term, Morris disclosed more information about himself and his family. Learning that his partner was a werebeast was shocking, but once he got over that, Julian joked that, “It should have been obvious! You’re so hairy!” earning him a swat to the head.

Of course, with them being together so long, it was natural that he’d meet the Prince a few times. It was obvious that they both cared for each other very much, and Julian was saddened to witness Morris’ dear friend’s mind start to slip away from him. The executions were terrible and scary, but knowing that this was coming from a man who was once a very kind child was tragic.

20 years into his relationship with Morris, he received a call from Morris who confessed that he killed his friend because he was going to kill Morris’ father next. Julian tried to convince Morris that they could all run away together, but Morris told him that they’d be running forever. He had killed the Prince, after all, and there was no way that the authorities would give up on finding him. Running wasn’t feasible.

And they did find out, eventually.

The only things keeping him going after Morris’ execution were his brother, his parents, and Morris’ dad.

Especially his brother. Julian’s brother checked on him religiously and made sure that he knew that there were lots of things to live for, which made Julian feel all fuzzy on the inside.

However, Julian’s brother also worryingly became more and more involved in a possible uprising against the leaders of the Isles of Viche. Three months after Morris’ death, concerned that his brother might end up getting himself killed, Julian decided to visit Morris’ dad to get some advice.

Unfortunately, Morris’ dad was out, and only Morris’ mom was home. Morris’ mother had never approved of Julian, and she had very high expectations of her son as well, which he never could meet 100%. Unable to find ways to cope with the fact that her son killed someone important to the Isles and was executed for it, she decided to focus her anger on Julian and blame him.

She invited him in with a glare and told him that her husband would be home soon. When serving him tea, she put a little something extra inside, and Julian died before he realized that anything was wrong.

Extra:

-Birthday: November 29 (somewhere between 1888 and 1890 in the Isle of Viche world)

-Hair is an eternal mess because he keeps raking his hands through it as a nervous tic. He’ll comb it neat in the morning and by the end of the day it looks like he had been in the middle of a tornado.
