Xenaut wasn’t an Autobot by choice and he left them at the first opportunity available to him. Eventually once he settled into his new life he did away with his faction brand.

While moving on from the Autobots is partially due to political reasons, as Xenaut never was on board with Autobot imperialism or the military government, it's primarily significant on a personal level. The loss of autonomy was the worst part of his ordeal for him, and removing the physical mark of servitude was a milestone in his recovery.
