Description After a recent outing that turned almost deadly with her best friend Sapphire, Mia had now come to Claire for advice. With Sapphire still wanting to go back to the cave the two had found, hopefully Claire could assist her in convincing Sapphire to leave it be.

“…So let me get this straight…” the blue haired half elf said to her friend across the small outdoor table. “This dragon girl convinces you to hastily build an underwater scooter drone, then you take this untested drone into a cave and it malfunctions .” “The dragon girl only stops to think this was a bad idea when she sees you freak out and then pass out .” “She then drags your drowned body out and barely makes it back to the surface before she passes out. ” “And after all that she STILL wants to drag you back with her!”

“W-well t-t-thats…” Mia knew Claire would be upset with her. She wouldn’t deny what they did was reckless and foolish, even Sapphire would say the same. But Sapphire has this adventurous drive from being cooped up inside her father’s tower for her whole life. On top of her charisma and charm with Mia being quite a pushover to most people. Sapphire still wanted to to go back in, even farther then they both had before things went wrong. Mia was not wanting to got back, and Sapphire said that was okay, but she was worried about her going alone. What if she didn’t come back out, what if she got taken by something down there. The initial trip scared her enough, but having something happen to her best friend felt worse. “P-please just help m-me talk her out of t-this.” Mia begged. “I’m definitely going to give her a piece of my mind, she just takes my friend and goes and breaks every rule of dive safety!”

The next day after meeting her however, Claire realized that she would be unable to talk the dragon girl out of her adventure. She could see something in her eyes as she spoke, she was looking to prove herself in some way. Mia would also likely be dragged into this as well, she made the drone and was the only one who knew its intricacies. Claire herself wouldn’t be able to go and supervise them, as there was a big ocean photo-shoot coming up and everyone was going to be needed. Diana was even hiring more dive support just to be able to manage everything. What she could do though is train the two as best she could, try to prepare them both physically and mentally.

The  agency dive pool would be unoccupied until a few days before the shoot, so they would practice there. Plenty of equipment and weights to work with as well. Borrowing some vests, belts, hand weights and a stopwatch the session begins. The first task: getting their breath holding times up. Sapphire, while still struggling,is doing surprisingly well for someone with no prior training or experience. Mia on the other hand was struggling, panicking before even hitting two minutes. With the rather large gap in skills between the two, this was going to be more difficult than Claire thought…..
