I knew this day was coming for a long time...
And I knew that when it came, no quote from his entire career would be more moving than that...
Sir Sean was a staple of my household growing up. Both of my parents loved his films...My mother often made claim that he reminded her of her father. So in a sense, Sean Connery was kind of like my Grandpa.
So hearing the news that he had passed this morning...was a rather dim way to start my Halloween this year.
I immediately thought of the movie "Thunderball" - and while "Goldfinger" remains my favorite, I should think that Thunderball remains the best-made of the original James Bond films. So watching the movie and knowing that Sir Sean is gone...it is hard for me to bear. I have cried several times today...and I don't believe I'll be stopping any time soon.
All I can say that gives me comfort is...
"...To the Stars."
