Is not an add on is the procedure to make the comments to be threaded so the replies are links to the comments and the comments themselvs are not show in the profile page. Also, the change of 25 to 5 comments helps in that purpose too.

the browser I used when it was not working was chrome
and the browser it worked on was firefox.
I think my add ons on chrome was messing it up, I have never experience that before....

ah, yes, it might be that as I use a very old Chromium (the open source software base of Chrome) and the gif is fine.

I'm having the issue too, but only on Chrome. Works OK when viewed in Firefox or downloaded and viewed in image viewer.

seems like a recently introduced bug. I expressed myself bad in the previous menssagge, I meant that is strange because I use a old Chromium and I see it fine.
Pd. I may add a note about this in the description or in the comments because most people use Chrome derived browsers.
In a side note in my very old Chromium when I paste a url it automatically transforms in a thumb (and I am not premium in this account) and with modern browsers, Chrome, Firefox that don't happen even when I am in my main account that have premium
