If you are wondering why "rose" her hair will be red. The model for this piece is the lovely Wendi who is featured in other paintings such as Vintage and the drawing of Ophelia's Last Breath. The photo was taken by photographer Jenny Wallace.

The artwork itself was less inspired by Arthur Rackham as often in times past and more inspired by Mucha, which I was going for in the hair and drapery. The intended medium, though I've been big on color pencils lately, will be watercolor. I am personally excited about this one, as it has a very classical feel to it, and I simply adored the pose.
