Description
The starlit mountain in the distance beckoned Veeke to a sandy dune, far from the shelter of the oasis. Her companion Pabu hovers closely, making its strange little cooing sounds as if it were inquiring her intentions. With a single whistle she responds to the magical cloth beast as best she can, hoping in some way he understands. She had not used her true voice in many, many years as there was no one to talk to. Even now she began to wonder what became of the others that had left her alone in the oasis so long ago. She was dragged from her thoughts from the glow of an unfamiliar light adorned atop the shattered remains of what might've been a temple.
Cautiously she approached, unsure of what may follow. Pabu was not afraid, it spun excited circles around Veeke insisting that she step forward. Looking closer she found the light came from a symbol, a floating letter held within this little radiant ball. She held aloft her hand and pressed against the rune, within a moment it dissipated from the air but collected within her robe. Veeke's garments extended from the back, now she was adorned with a scarf patched into the fabric. All at once she felt lighter than air and leapt up into the sky. Veeke was flying!

I feel like I was born to do paintings of the desert...
