Description
Lovingly given its own title, I also like to think of this as Forlorn II, because thats just what it makes me think of lol.I have not been very impressed with my last two portrait pieces, and I did not feel they were very successful. So I decided to take some time to sit down and do another one, this time, not being rushed though it for one reason or another. I also wanted to go a little darker this time, and Although it turned out 'lighter' than I had anticipated I am still rather happy with it. the hair and head pieces I thought turned out particularly well.
now, I know that the roses look a little funny, at least two of them particularly so. And, I'm really not sure what happened, But it may be to do with the last two times i've done roses I've made the yellow and not red, and I think the red confused me, because somewhere between trying to figure out the petals and remembering where my light source was *SUPPOSED* to be coming from, I seemed to have forgotten I was painting a rose, and tried to paint a door instead. eventually after I figured out that it was indeed NOT supposed to be a door, I tried to fix it the best I could but you can only do so much to mend watercolors, and the roses tend to still look quite FLAT. >.>;

I understand why you would call this forlorn the emotion in this picture so strong, love the colouring and again amazed at your watercolour skills. Just amazing!

I was just browsing, I enjoy fantasy art, and came across this lovely watercolor of yours. I'm not artistically inclined towards drawing, but I do like to write. The best part is, I could almost write a story about this Elf.
Wonderful piece.

I love this. Was this done entirely in watercolors? I think the roses look great! Love the textured background and border. Well done!

She looks so despondent. Truly emotive. (lol, I am the big baby 'feeler' of the group) Really lovely work here.
