It was probably trying to go to sleep when the photographer took a pic of it. Our parrot sleeps and rests on one leg a lot, it looks weird.

And by the way, ye gods that is f'n awesome. It's beak is great and the little downy feather showing just under his (her?) wing is a really nicely done. Well, the whole pic is nicely done. I envy your skills.
