Well I remember a very specific passage in the bible, I just don't remember the book/chapter/verse
Just the words of what went down. And it was basically a priest telling a man a detailed guide on how to poison his wife, then giving him a vial of holy water, said to make sure she drinks both then say this prayer (recites prayer) should his wife had cheated on him, the toxin will kill the fetus and destory her nethers so that she may never bare children. Should it be a faithful product (his own kid) the holy water will cure the poison.

Numbers 5 - The Curse of Jealousy. This verse is fucked up in more ways than I can count. The premise all starts when a man suspects that his wife has been unfaithful, but he can't prove it. "if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure - or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure - then he is to take his wife to the priest."
Once there, the priest takes holy water, mixes it in a clay jar with dust from the tabernacle floor. Then he writes curses on a scroll, and dissolves or washes that into the "bitter water". He makes the woman drink it. If she hasn't done anything wrong, then she walks away fine. If she had an affair with another man, she will have an abortion (miscarry) from the curse, and her womb will become cursed so she can no longer bear children.
And, whether or not the man was just being stupid and jealous for no reason, "The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences"

They made similar idiotic stuff in the middle (christian) ages, I was told. Mostly women, of course were drown into water and when they accidently survived, it was "proved" that they were witches and they burned them. If they died in the water, it was proven, that they were not witches, cause they died like a natural human does.

I could swear I found a transcript saying that they can shoot themselves and live. If they live after drinking poison, they should try that.

Sure it is written somewhere, somehow. And when it doesn´t "taste" good anymore, you can always say, that it is taken out of context
