Description I'd like to introduce you all to my latest creation Bandit the Numbat (otherwise known as the Banded Anteater). This little chap is a marsupial native to Australia that eats termites, termites and more termites, approximately 20,000 of them per day to be exact. Yummy!! Sadly they are an endangered species now due to predation by foxes and feral cats etc.

He measures approximately 7" from nose to bottom (his tail is another 6" long) and stands about 4" high. I created him out of all white fabrics and airbrushed on his fur markings. I do hope that you like him.

You can find more photos and information about him on the webpage below if you'd like to know/see more.

He was a special order so already has a new home to go to.

He's stunningly beautiful. I can't believe the detail in his little face and hands. He's just stunning and incredible. I love his markings as well.

Thanks a bunch, those little claws were so fiddly to make but he just had to have them.

Thank you so much. I tried hard with the fur markings but I can't manage to reproduce the scattering of different coloured guard hairs that the real animal's fur has. Don't know if I'll ever be able to crack that one.

This one REALLY got me. #1 I thought they WERE extinct, so I am happy that they are not, and #2- I thought for sure it was real!! You are so amazing!!!

Thank you so much for your kind words.

Not quite extinct yet, thank goodness, and there is a conservation and breeding program in place to make sure that they keep surviving in the wild.

They are, indeed! May I ask you what paint you use to airbrush the markings on? I've been using Copic markers myself, but they can make the fabrics clump a little, so I was looking for possible alternatives...

I use Jacquard Dye-na-flow paints and heat set them with a hairdryer. It's important to build the layers up slowly so as not to affect the feel of the fur. I sometimes use Copic markers too for the smaller detailing. HTH.
