Description
Hugh's Ability is one of the more common types of Aura Abilities, a physical fortification ability. In his case his aura gives support to his muscles and helps his breathing during physical activity and exertion. It's not exactly to a superhuman level, but it does make him a really good athlete.

Lexi, a gift from his grandfather three years ago, was initially a companion Pokemon. She wasn't bred for battling, and thus when Hugh got his Pokemon license he also made sure she was well suited for battling. It's not technically required for wild catches (though highly encouraged), but a trainer's start Pokemon must match certain qualifications to ensure that starting out the trainer should be able to control their Pokemon, and that the Pokemon isn't so fragile as to need extra care and handling that a trainer just starting out may not be able to provide.
