Description
Elena Gilbert (pictured on right) and Caroline Forbes (pictured on left) had been long time friends. They were both pretty and popular and come from families who have a long history in their town of Mystic Falls where they had lived their whole life. They had been inseperable until last year when her parents were killed in a car crash one night. She had been riding with them but she had survived. She felt some guilt from that night because they were riding back after they had come to get her at a party that she was not supposed to go to. Needing time to grieve, recover, and come to terms with her guilt, she broke up with her long time boyfriend Matt, telling him she needed space, and distancing herself from Caroline. Though she had been friends with Caroline for a long time and could have used a friend during this rough time, she didn't think Caroline, being a rather ditzy and shallow girl, wouldn't be able to offer her the support she needed. Thankfully she had her other friend Bonnie who was able to fill the role of a friend with a shoulder to lean on.

Now it was September and the start of a new school year. Elena was hoping that it could be a fresh start for her as well. She and her little brother were now living with their aunt and things were starting to have some normalcy again. She was both excited and a little nervous about starting to school again. She was worried about seeing Matt and Caroline again. Still, she was going in with a positive attitude. On the way to school with Bonnie who was driving, they nearly crashed when a black bird nearly came through their car. Elena couldn't shake that this was a sign of something, and most likely a sign of something bad. At school, she asw both Matt and Carolina and it was just as awful as she knew it woudl be. Matt wasn't sure how to act around her as she had broken his heart which she knew. Caroline was just giving her the cold shoulder because she was mad at her (Elena) for distancing herself from her (Caroline).

After an awkward run in with Caroline, Elena collided with someone on her way to the bathroom. It turned out to be a good looking guy she had never seen before. Luckily the guy did not seem offended and even made sure she was okay. That was not the end of her rough patch, her history teacher was a jerk and immediately started in on her and the class for not knowing the material he was going over. He also had to mention that this year, unlike last year, he was not going to give her any break. She had gotten some breaks with school work last year after her parents died. Elena was so glad when the school day was over. While it hadn't been the worst day ever, it wasn't an easy day either.

Elena immediately headed to the cementary after school. She liked to go to her parents tombstone, and communicate to them while writing in her journal. She had just gotten a page done when the bird that had nearly flown through the windshield of Bonnie's car appeared and started making a bunch of sounds. This was followed by the sound of footsteps. Feeling both weirded out and frightened, she packed her journal into her purse, slide her purse over her shoulder, and started to walk away fast. She was so worried about checking behind her, she didn't notice a branch which she stumbled over and fell hard to the ground, cutting her hand.

Oh no she thought as she heard the footsteps come closer. It was then that the guy she had run into school came into view. "Are you okay?" the guy asked her with concern. "Yeah, I just tripped" Elena said embarassed as the guy came over to her and helped her up. His hands felt a little cool but she figured it was because it was a cool day. "What are you doing here?" the guy asked her puzzled. "I could ask you the same thing but I like to come here and visit my parents" she said gesturing to their nearby tombstones. The guy nodded at this. "I understand, I am here fo
same reason" he replied with a sympathetic smile. "So um, your new at school right? I'm Elena" she said in a friendly tone with a matching smile. She had to admit that the guy was good looking though she wasn't sure she should be thinking like that. She wasn't sure if she was ready to start dating yet. "It's nice to meet you Elena, I'm Stefan" Stefan replied softly with a small smile. "It's nice to meet you Stefan" Elena said as she offered her uncut hand to him.

Stefan glanced at the hand and then saw that her other hand was bleeding and he immediately winced. "You are injured, you should have that looked at" he said. "It's just a scratch but I should head home. It was nice to meet you Stefan. I hope to see you around school" she said with a smile before walking away. His reaction to her cut seemed weird but maybe he just didn't like seeing blood. Anyway, it was probably a good thing her cut stopped them from getting too far in their coversation. She needed to figure out if she was ready to date yet before getting to know this guy. She didn't think she should starting hanging out with guys again until after she was sure that she was ready to date again.

Stefan had been waiting to talk to Elena for a long time. He had been the one to rescure her from the car accident that had claimed her parents. Since that moment, he had wanted to get to know her. She looked exactly like his ex-girlfriend Katherine which had immediate grabbed his attention. He watched her for awhile, wondering if it was possible that she was Katherine. As it turned out, she was not Katherine and nothing like her. In fact, she seemed better. She seemed kind and sweet and he just had to get to know her. Today had been the first chance he had ever gotten a chance to talk to her but unfortunately it was cut way too short by the cut on her hand. He couldn't talk to her while she was bleeding because then his vampire characteristics would show and he couldn't have her know that he was a vampire. He had to tell her to go which she thankfully did. He just hoped that she didn't think him weird and he had lost his chance of getting to know her.

In addiiton to her personality, there was one other way that Elena differered from Katherine. Katherine was quite plump. Elena though thin, definitely had some curves and softness. He couldn't help but check her out as he watched her leave. She had a lovely body that was definitely ripe for plumping. In addition to being a vampire, Stefan was a FA and a feeder. He not only wanted to get to know Elena but he wanted to plump her up. She seemed receptive to him and he could only hope that she would allow him into her world so he could achieve both of his goals.
