It's very rare that I find a flower "macro" that really impresses me - this shot is truly amazing. I can't imagine how long it took to get the DOF and positioning just right like you have in this shot.

Amazing colors and detail. You can see the fuzz on the bee! Excellent focus and cropping as well.

This is a good shot, I like it!
shame for the loss of detail on the background (it is not only out of focus, it also seems to me a little... mmm... grainy)
Anyway, I wish I had a digital cam with a macro as good as yours

anymore DOF and you lose the bumble bee,
part of the macro focus, but thank you for commenting

no need to be afraid . . .
they're gentle, they bumble
and you can easily evade them
they're fat and fuzzy and don't fly fast.

Thats why you're one of my favorites
Sourdough Starter:
1 large ( 4 qt ) plastic bowl with lid
A couple of handfulls of over ripe grapes
1 tblsp sugar
Warm tap water
1 tbsp yeast
3 cups AP flour
pinch salt
1> Smush the grapes well in the bowl with a potato smasher
2> Let sit to allow the must (yeast) to blend with the sugar in the grape juice, 15 min, then strain.
3> Measure the juice, then measure enough water to make 2 cups
Mix sugar, yeast, salt, flour in the bowl, stir in the grape juice & water
Cover
Store out of the way of direct sunlight
Stir once every day for 3 days
Replace 1 cup of FLOUR in any bread recipie with 1 cup of starter and add that cup of flour to the starter

cool shot. I think I would watch out if I were the bee though. it loooks like the flower is ready to shoot out poisonous orange darts in any direction.

Wow...
I can see what my photography teacher means about the rule of thirds now. Where you placed it is like..exactly on one of the 'good spots' [For anyone that doesnt know, the rule of thirds is like, placing a tic-tac-toe lines over the picture, where the lines intersect are usually the best spots for placing the subject]
I love this shot

yup, once you learn the rule
of how not to take shitty, even-horizon, centered,
far away, no DOF vacation snapshots
you'll never frame a photo up the same way again.
i think you forgot to take your
with you honey . . .

You...adore ME???
That's absolutely crazy! I adore you!
BTW, does your camera focus before it snaps? Cause like...I press the button, and mine like...focuses and then it takes the picture, and it gets all blurry.. I just want it to snap what I see! GRrr!!!

littleredelf In reply to TygerDenoir [2003-09-15 22:16:51 +0000 UTC]
it focuses and i can see when it is out of focus
and so re-focus. it beeps with an alert when it thinks
the subject is clear.
