Indeed; I looked it up and found that in one of the What if... comics Venom did actually bond with Hulk for a while. Been trying to find images to see what he looked like, but haven't found a proper one yet. Your interpretation looks about like what I'd expect though.

You may also want to check out my "Mirror Images" piece. It shows the proportions between the Webhead and Venom. I might just make a composition with Venom and the Hulk just to show you how much of a size difference there is between those two.
