Description
Half a century elapsedAlmost forgot we existed
My Indigence to be loved has been long lost
Suddenly moon-stricken by those chartreuse eyes
Nihility erased and painted over with shades of summer along the Aisne
Nineteen is hard to recollect in this suit of mine
Compiling thoughts into words has never been more difficult
Staring into those chartreuse eyes
Dopamine levels rise
Heart beat fills my veins with chemicals
Evidence is tangible in my quivering lip
Memories are evoked as I grasp your hand with mine
A perfect fit
Those Chartreuse eyes are my time machine
This hinterland bench was made for us
We've been traveling towards it our entire lives
Towards each other
Half a century undone
