Whew! Wow, it's been a while since I upload something, huh?!Anyway, I know most are anticipating for the upcoming page of "Maria's First Christmas". BUT, this is also something most people have been bugging to do so for quite a long time. How do SSS look like in merhog forms?
Well, I'm happy to say, you no need to wait, and here it is! I'll explain a little things on the details:
The SSS will have their own Atlantis flare on their clothing in their teenage year.
Their tails colors are the hardest to pick because I don't want to be like other artworks with Sonic as merhog in the past. Being one of the first hybrid between Coizard and Merhogs, I've decided to have the SSS's tails to be bit more colorful and unique.
Atlantians LOVE colours, so as youth, the SSS were adored by their colorful tails.
Sonic's sword is actually the weapon of his choice, its presence is created from his magic and will. Its appearance is different between on land and in the ocean. Since he's part of Atlantis royalty, his sword would bear resemblance of a trident; another symbol of royal and represent of Atlantis.
You'd see Sonic (both young and old) is wearing a pink pearl headwear as a symbol of royalty since pink pearls are the rarest pearls in the ocean.

Wow. Love the colorings, the lightings and the shadings are all done up in the right place, and loved the originality of the design for Sonic's garbs, and loved how you designed the sword.

Actually, when they are on land. Their weapons would change into their normal/usual weapon. Only when in ocean they'd change into more trident-like.

Sadly, I've yet to finalize the building of Atlantis. I have concept arts here and there, but never finalized yet.

You know, this really does fulfill all my hopes for Sonic's merhog form. I knew you were headed this direction for years (and I tried my best to be patient!), but it's rewarding to be given something so unique. The completely different cultural style screams "Atlantis!" while at the same time not changing the core of who Sonic is.
Out of curiosity, do those pearls go all the way around like a sort of "headband" or do they just circle a couple sets of quills on each side of his head? LOL! And I get the sneaking suspicion that Silver might be faster than his brother in the water.

Out of all the merhog pics that I seen of sonic and everyone, this is the most authentic and breathtaking I have seen of Sonic. I cannot wait for Silver and Shadow as merhogs!

In terms of gameplay, that's both brilliant (to conquer Sonic's aquaphobia) and terrifying (underwater levels for half a game, at least the Werehog gameplay could have been tweaked and reused for Knuckles in later games) at the same time.
The artwork however is perfection, well done!
