Description In the world of puzzle games with falling stuff, there are two games that top all the rest. One is the very first - Alexey Pajitnov’s Tetris - and the other is Puyo Pop, first developed by Compile, and since their bankruptcy in 2002 by Sega.

The colored puyos drop two at a time. Matching four or more puyos of the same color will make them disappear. Gravity comes into play as well - there are never any blocks with nothing under them, like in Tetris. This enables you to create large chains.

For the colored game pieces, the developers at Compile chose the slime-like enemy from their RPG Madou Monogatari. The initial characters were also taken from that RPG, though they are now much more known for their Puyo Pop appearances. Since Sega took over, they’ve introduced several new characters as well.

P.S. The Genesis game "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine" - which is in Sonic Mega Collection - is literally the same exact game.

I love this game, in fact I love Compile in general, it's too bad they no longer technically exist.
