Description
Parvoo(closed species owned by me, you may not make your own)
Lore:
This species was born because humans interfered with dragons.
Humans had found out about dragons thousands of decades ago. They saw how dragons were tough and deadly. The humans wanted to utilize that kind of power. They decided to get dragons of their own. Unfortunately, their efforts of catching adult dragons were in vain. They resorted to capturing baby dragons and even stealing dragon eggs. The humans raised the baby dragons, but it was difficult work. The dragons required a lot of food and water. It was too much for the humans to handle. As much as they tried to get enough food for the baby dragons, it was not enough. Some of them died, and those who lived ended up with stunted features. The humans thought up of breeding the survivors to hopefully create a new dragon species they would be able to utilize while avoiding so much work towards feeding it. Decades passed, and their new species gradually evolved. The humans did not get what they wanted. Their new species resulted in miniature dragons, which they called "Parvoo" (Parvoo in their tongue meant small dragon). This miniature dragon type species was weak, and cowardly. The Parvoo were not fed properly. This caused them to lose some dragonlike features and stunt the few they had kept. Their teeth for example, were small, and they had lost their toes to only end up with two per feet. Their scales had evolved to fur to help against the weather since they no longer needed scales for fighting armor. They no longer had several spikes on their back, only a main spike(s) on the portion of their back near their necks, which humans still have not figured out why that/those spike(s) is/are still there. Parvoo were not born and raised to fight or kill properly. Their training was always in vain for it left them afraid. They had learned to run away from danger, and duck - which in the end, their tail evolved into a large spike. That spike tail provided defense in the way that if the Parvoo was in danger, it would run from its predator and duck, then its tail would peirce the predator if it were to continue charging at the Parvoo. Here's a messy example of that position: sta.sh/0uodf7bfuzb ~Parvoo never learned to breathe fire either. They only accidently breathe a small burst of fire when they sneeze (some people say they accidently breathe fire the other way around too), and smoke comes out in small puffs out of their noses after sneezing, and while hiccuping. In the end, the humans decided to keep the Parvoo as pets.
The basic features of a Parvoo:
-Fur body
-Keratin tail, whiskers, and spikes.
-Around the size of a goat
-Large eyes with dilated pupils which give Parvoo weak sight
-Slender legs which are all about the same size, fore=hind
-Two toes which prove to give the Parvoo a bit of trouble balancing. Some are found with a small toe hanging from the back of their feet. They don't help balance.
-2-3 Whiskers which are used to sense the environment and help balance.
-Main spike(s) which are still unknown for what use they are.
-Small, sharp teeth
-Dangling tongue - it is quite common to find them sticking out their tongues which help them taste the air. The most commonly found tongue is the Round type. The Tip tongue is more uncommon but has proved to have a greatened sense of smell and taste.
-Slit nose which only intakes oxygen and releases smoke. It is not used for smelling as it is used for breathing.
-Ear hole which is used for... well - you guessed it - hearing.
Lore Part 2:
Some Parvoo were released by unsatisfied humans. These Parvoo have evolved into growing different spiked tails to suit their defense out in the wild. Their tails are easy to distinguish because they do not take the more slender figure their human-owned family members have. Breeders have brought back a few of the wild Parvoo in an attempt to keep those unique tails in the species. Due to the great difficulty for wild Parvoo to aquire substantial food in the wild, these Parvoo have died or have babies with defects. Even Parvoo owned by humans who are not fed enough have babies with defects. These Parvoo usually die unless given proper care.
Common tails found in human-owned Parvoo are:
Stump, Pike
Three Wild Parvoo Tails are currently known. These include:
Burst, Flint, Shard
The four defects known to exist in Parvoo are:
-Lack of Whiskers (no sense of environment or balance)
-Lack of Pupil (Lost eyesight)
-Lack of Tail (No defense)
-Lack of Main Spike(s) (causes narcoplesy)
Lore Part 3:
Scientists who still desired the power of the dragons relentlessly bred and conditioned Parvoo to be aggressive. Many Parvoo died at their hands, some stayed the same, and the slimmest handful actually changed in a few ways. These select few were taken and continuously bred. Before these scientists could continue, Animal Rights organizations had caused their labs to be siezed. The few Parvoo with altered features were siezed by breeders who made sure to earn big profit off of them.
Features known to have formed from the scientists' testing include:
-Dragon X tail (the failed attempt at aquiring Dragon Y and Dragon Z tails)
-Dragon Y tail (short dragon tail lined with spikes)
-Dragon Z tail (dragon tail of great length with no spikes)
-Dragon eyes (with enhanced vision, can see heat)
-Dragon tongue (better sense of taste and smell)
-Three toes (more stable balance)
-Varied whiskers (better sense of environment and balance)
-Varied additional spikes (failed attempt at aquiring Full additional spikes)
-Full additional spikes (better defense for Parvoo)
A little more information:
Parvoo are known to be friendly and affectionate towards humans. They have difficulty befriending other species because they are shy, cowardly creatures. Once they befriend someone or something though, they'll stay with them for good. They greatly depend on being fed and are quite glutinous. No matter how much food they get, they'll quickly burn it off as they are quite active. When they do not recieve much food they tend to sleep for long periods of time. They will gladly eat anything but favor raw meat. They have the tendancy to fall over, or trip, but get back up just as easily. They dislike being alone, and don't mind being dressed up or bathed. They are quite tolerant.

Okay, I know this is all disorganized but I just wanted to get the idea out and pour it all out before I lost it all. I will probably organize this whole species reference page at a later date though, and even add some more features to them. This was really enjoyable, I already had fun creating the two mascot Parvoo, Lyr and Lyz: lizardio.deviantart.com/art/Ly…
Parvoo are a closed species which belong to me. You may not make your own.
