Description
Wow...that's a close-up. This is my green iguana, Alexia. She's full grown at about five feet. She has quite an interesting story. My local Humane Society has my name and number down to call for any reptiles that they get in. Last summer, I got a call about an iguana they found in a tree on the college campus. Apparently, some college kids let her go once summer rolled around. She certainly wouldn't have survived the winter up here, so it's a good thing she was caught.I went to the Humane Society with my best friend to take a look at her and decided I could take her. I went into the cage to grab her, expecting her to be a bit crazy due to all the stress of the day. I was certainly right. She gave me some good tail whips and claw slashes, leading to a few nasty scars on my arms.
But after we got her home and settled in, she became a sweetie. Now, a year later, she sits with me on my bed as we eat grapes without any fuss. She really likes being stroked under the chin. She's a great lizard.
