So, I recently finished watching Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure on Disney+
I have to admit, it turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting, especially considering the vibes I got from most of the first season, and the fact that I was pretty much only watching it as a show to give me something to do when I was really bored and sick.
I ended up really liking some of the characters, especially Cass. So I decided to read some fanfiction.
One I have been reading is called Darkest Destiny, and takes an interesting approach.

For those of you who are currently watching the show, or are planning to and don’t want spoilers, here is your warning now, there are major spoilers below!

The story is an AU in which at the time when Cass tries to take the sundrop, she anticipates Zhan Tiri’s interception, and kills her before she can interfere, and succeeds, instead of failing like she does in the show. So, she gains the power of both, and “ascends” into an immortal and all powerful form that allows her to operate much like a goddess. It also drives her mad.
Throughout the story, she slowly becomes more and more volatile and unstable, and completely morally compromised.

I love a good transformation, and am very interested by this version of Cass, so I decided to do some fanart of her. But I also took it a step farther. I created my own sort of AU of this AU, if you will. A projected trajectory of what could happen to her if she continued down this dark path of spiraling madness for too long without some kind of intervention. What I would think the sundrop/moonstone might do to her in that case.
This is partially based upon what these two celestial powers were shown to have done to Zahn Tiri in the show. I figured, it might be slightly different for each person who might obtain them, but still somewhat similar.

In case my writing in the image is illegible, here’s what it says:
Base form. The one she most commonly appears in. Teeth are normal human teeth. Her gem, hair and eyes glow at all times. Hair very faintly so. Eyes rather intensely, especially in the dark.
This is her “ascended form”. She can transition to it at will, and prefers this form, though she typically suppresses it for the sake of fitting in, and not scaring people as much. She is not more powerful in this form, as suppressing her physical appearance has no bearing on her power level. Although, taking into account the alterations made to her by the moonstone/sundrop, this would now be considered her “true” or “natural” form/state.
This is not a true “form”. It is more of a transitional state she begins to experience sometimes when she succumbs to intense bouts of rage, maliciousness or power lust. Or sometimes in response to fear; that fear really being a self preservation tactic of the powers that now call her hoste, reacting to her true inner human self trying to surface. She cannot control this form at all, and can only detransition from it if she is able to be calmed in some way. She is very mentally unstable when she is like this, and her powers become unstable as well.

Other notes are:
She is more muscular and taller in this form - referring to her ascended form.
And - She is much taller overall in this state - referring to her transitional state.

This was all very fun to design! I give partial credit to the author of the fanfic linked above! The first two forms were based mostly off the description of Cass in that story (and of course her character design in the show).
